The LA Giltinis will continue their partnership with Los Angeles’ major sporting network, Bally Sports with all non-national matches broadcast LIVE on Bally Sports SoCal and Bally Sports West.

Bally Sports joins national broadcast partners FOX SPORTS (FS 1) and FOX SPORTS 2 (FS 2) alongside The Rugby Network, MLR’s dedicated online content hub.

The LIVE action will kick off this weekend against the Houston SaberCats from Houston this Saturday at 5:00pm local time on Bally Sports West.

The continuation of the partnership shows the exponential ‘rise of rugby’, in the city with the Los Angeles Giltinis featuring alongside NBA, MLB and NHL and sporting powerhouses the Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks.

“We are thrilled the LA Giltinis can continue to be part of a rich mix sporting brands with Bally Sports, and overwhelmingly positive feedback the sport has had,” Giltinis General Manager Adam Freier said.

“Our viewership and crowd attendance set records in the sport for 2021 and this would not have been possible without the help of a quality partner like Bally Sports.

In further exciting news for sporting fans in Los Angeles and internationally, all LA Giltinis and non-Giltinis MLR matches will be available LIVE on The Rugby Network alongside other magazine programs and international renowned Rugby competitions, including Japan Rugby League One.

“The Rugby Network has been one of the biggest success stories in MLR last season." - LA Giltinis GM Adam Freier

“It is a great resource for our LA Rugby fans to be able to watch all of the MLR matches last season, and they won’t miss a minute of live action again in 2022 once again.

“It’s free and easily accessible for any MLR fan around the world, and it also provides great color programming and highlights for all the MLR matches."

From a national broadcast standpoint, MLR will be featured on FS1 and FS2 each week in 2022. FOX Sports will also carry the MLR Championship Final, which is set to be held the weekend of June 25.

“Having FOX Sports involved as the national television broadcaster for Major League Rugby this season is an amazing opportunity for the league,” said MLR Commissioner George Killebrew. “FOX Sports’ reach and audience will not only bring our fans the rugby coverage they expect but also introduce our sport to entirely new rugby fans.”

“We are excited to showcase another season of Major League Rugby across our cable networks, highlighting the fast-paced action of professional American rugby at the highest level,” said Bill Wanger, Executive Vice President, Head of Programming and Scheduling, FOX Sports.

The Giltinis have once again assembled a star-studded playing cast in 2022 including the return of Australian Superstar Matt Giteau and the new signings of Canadian flyer Ben LeSage and USA Eagles dynamo, Hanco Germishuys.

The 2021 MLR Champion Giltinis are based out the Californian sporting hub of El Segundo, alongside the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Kings and incoming tenant, the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Giltinis home ground is at the legendary and renowned Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, a stadium which they broke the MLR record for the biggest crowd in the history of the competition, while also being the first ever sporting team to play in front of fans in a one off in May 2021 in front of fans.

Tune in for the LIVE action this weekend, as LA take on the Houston SaberCats this Saturday from 5:00pm local time, with the Giltinis ‘Opening day’ set for 3pm Sunday February 27 at the LA Coliseum against the New England Free Jacks.
