Christian Poidevin

Backrow

The Poidevin name is a famous one in Australian rugby and backrower.

Christian is continuing on the legacy of his father Simon in his rugby career. Simon Poidevin is a former Waratahs captain and a Wallabies legend, as well as a stalwart of famous Sydney club Randwick. The younger Poidevin has recently emerged into the senior ranks, making his first grade debut for Randwick in 2019, a club around which he spent much of his childhood. Poidevin was a starter for the Galloping Greens’ historic clash with Argentina ahead of the 2019 Rugby World Cup and his potential has been noticed by many. He took a step up into the National Rugby Championship in 2018 as well, proving himself in the level above club rugby.

Poidevin battled back from a foot injury to play a winning role in the Championship final. A classical openside flanker, he hunts the ball, is highly efficient at the breakdown and has a linkman’s knack to get involved in some of the Giltinis’ best tries.
